It’s too late for you
Dear reader, as an introduction to this article, it is important for you to understand that there is a time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1), for instance:
-there is a time for you to go to work if you are employed,
-there is a time for you to be at your business premises if you are a business man/woman,
-there is a time for you to go to school if you are a student, etc.
It’s common knowledge that:
-if you are employed, you always ensure that you go to work on time because you are aware that if you are a perpetual late comer, the consequence is that you would be fired.
-if you are a perpetual late comer to your business premises, the consequence is that you risk losing customers or worse still your business might be shut down because of lack of customers.
-if you are a perpetual late comer to your school, the consquence is that you risk failling your exams or worse still you might be dismissed.
The aforementioned explanation introduces us to the truth that there is a time for everything. This brings us to the next issue that we are going to examine. This has to do with another truth that there is a time to be born, and a time to die (Ecclesiastes 3:1).
The Holy Bible speaks of three types of death: Spiritual death, Physical death and Eternal or Second death.
1) Spiritual death has to with has to do with your separation from God who is your Creator and the source of spiritual life. Every human being is born spiritually dead, that is, separated from God. This is due to the sin that Adam and Eve committed in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-6). When they rebelled against God, they sinned and introduced sin into the human race and consequently every human being is born with a sinful nature.
This is how the Bible reveals it: ” Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned” (Romans 5:12). One man (Adam) here represents Adam and Eve. So Adam and Eve brought sin into the human race. That is why the Bible says that ”all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God” (Romans 3:23). Man cannot save himself from sin. Praise the Lord! God has provided a unique solution to sin by sending His only begotten Son to come and pay the penalty for the sins of mankind so that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16). The Word of God also says that:
”But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ. Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous” (Romans 5:15-19).
Sin makes a person hate the light and despise the truth; it causes one to break God’s laws and to become insensitive to holy things. Everyone who has not been redeemed by Christ is spiritually dead (Luke 15:32; Ephesians 2:1-3; Colosians 2:13).
2) Physical death does not mean the end of existence but the end of this temporal life here on earth and the beginning of eternal life. Genesis chapter 3 reveals that both Spiritual and Physical death come as a result of sin (Romans 5:12-21) but God provides salvation and eternal life for believers through the atoning death of The Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 6:23b).
3) Eternal or Second death is eternal separation from God-the fate of unbelievers.
It is the state of final condemnation and punishment to which unbelievers are condemned by God at the Last Judgment which is known as The Great White Throne Judgment (Revelation 2:11, Revelation 20:6,14; Revelation 21:8). You can only be saved from Eternal or Second death if you accept the sacrifice of Christ by being born again (John 3:3-5) that is, by accepting Christ as your LORD and personal Saviour.
This brings us to the issue of lateness of your Salvation if you die physically without Christ. That is, the lateness on your part if you die physically without being born again. That is, the lateness on your part if you die without having accepted Christ as your LORD and personal Saviour.
Too late for what?
In this context the phrase too late has to do with being too late for you to change your eternal destiny, to change where you will spend eternity. There are only two places to spend eternity or life without end after you die physically and you must choose only one of these places. You must choose either Heaven (everlasting life with Christ) or hell (everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone after the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelation 20:11-15).
The worst consequence of rejecting Christ’s offer of Salvation in this physical life is everlasting punishment in the lake of fire in which there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthw 25:30).
What if you say you don’t believe in eternal life?
If you say so then it’s self-deception and self-destruction on your part. You are not the first person to be deceived by satan to say so. Satan is the world’s worst deceiver (Revelation 12:9; Revelation 13:14; Revelation 20:10) and he is also very crafty and subtle (Genesis 3:1) and does not want anybody to repent. Why? Because he wants to deceive as many human beings as possible to reject Christ’s offer of free gift of Salvation (Ephesians 2:8-9) so that when they die physically they will follow him (satan) to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire prepared for him (satan) and his demons (Matthew 25:41). Satan and his demons are doomed or destined to suffer everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone prepared for them (Matthew 25:41). They have already been judged (John 16:11) and sentenced to suffer everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone prepared for them. Bear in mind that God prepared the lake of fire and brimstone for satan and his demons as revealed in Matthew 25:41 because of their rebellion against God in Ezekiel 28:12-19 and Isaiah 14:12-14. God did not prepare it for humans. That is why He (God) does not want anyone to perish (that is, to suffer everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone) but to come to repentance (Matthew 18:14; 2 Peter 3:9b) and it’s also the reason why God so loved the world that He sent Christ that ”whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). Satan knows God’s love for humanity and is jealous of that love. Also, satan does not want to suffer everlasting punishment alone in the lake of fire and brimstone. He wants to deceive as many humans as possible to follow him there. Because of ignorance, stubborness, and self-deception many people allow themselves to be deceived by satan to reject the free gift of Salvation from Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9) and consequently when they die physically they go to hell fire and and they will suffer severe everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation 20:11-15).
Satan main goal in life is to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10a) as many lives as possible. His strategy is to use every means available to him to deceive as many people as possible to reject the free gift of Salvation in Christ Jesus so that when they die physically they will suffer everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone. Please, don’t allow satan to deceive you to be one of them. If you do, you do so at your peril. The Lord advises you to accept the free gift of Salvation from Christ now (Deuteronomy 30:19) so that you shall have everlasting life with Christ (Matthew 25:46b).
When is it too late for you to accept the free gift of Salvation?
It is too late for you if you die physically without believing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.
-Christ is the only way to the everlasting life (John 14:6; Acts 4:12; (John 3:16).
If you die physically without believing in Christ, then it’s too late for you to change your eternal destiny from severe everlasting punishment (Matthew 25:46) in lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8) to everlasting life (John 3:36).
-If you die physically without the Light which is Christ (John 8:12;12:36) then it’s too late for you to change your eternal destination from everlasting fire (Matthew 18:8b) to eternal life (John 6:54).
-If you die physically without repenting and believing the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 1:15) then it’s too late for you to change where you will spend eternity. You would no longer be able to change from eternal damnation (Mark 3:29) to everlasting habitations (Luke 16:9).
-If you die physically in your sins then it’s too late for you (John 8:24) to pass from death unto life (John 5:24): ”Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life” (John 5:24).
satan has some tactics or strategies that he uses to deceive people to reject Christ’s free gift of Salvation (Luke 8:12-14). Please, don’t fall prey to such satanic tactics.
Christ does not know you if it’s too late for you because of your rejection of the free gift of Salvation, your stubbornness, rebellion or disobedience (Matthew 7:21-23; Matthew 25:10-12; Luke 12:47; Luke 20:9-18).
The main reason why Christ left His Glory and came here on earth was that you should believe in Him and be saved (John 3:17) from the everlasting punishment in the lake of fire and brimstone prepared for satan and his demons (Matthew 25:41). God Almighty wants you to be born again so that you shall have the everlasting life with Christ (John 3:16). God loves you and does not want you to perish (that is, to suffer everlasting punishment in the lake of fire) but to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9) before you die physically, otherwise, it would be too late for you and you shall have yourself to blame because you shall not have any excuse (Romans 1:20) since the Lord tells you the truth clearly in His Word (John 8:32) that if you believe in Christ before you die physically you shall be saved from everlasting punishment in the lake of fire (John3:16).
He that believeth in Christ is not condemned: ”He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God” (John 3:18-21).
You can only change your eternal destiny BEFORE you die physically and NOT after your physical death. It’s too late for you to change your eternal destiny after your physical death. Anybody can die physically at any time and thus, the wisest thing for you to do is to accept Christ now as your Lord and personal Saviour because the next hour let alone tomorrow might be too late for you since you are not in any way in control of time or what will happen to you the next minute, the next hour or tomorrow (Luke 12:20).
Dear reader, The Lord Jesus is coming right away. If you are not born again, Please, be born again now (John 3:3-5) because the next minute might be too late for you since you are not in any way in control of your life, your future or what will happen to you the next minute (Luke 12:20). It’s a matter of death or life. If you are born again, then the question is: Are you living a Holy or Blameless life? Are you ready for the coming of The Lord Jesus Christ? Please, be ready for His coming. The Lord Jesus Christ states categorically:
”Behold, I come quickly” (Revelation 3:11; 22:7,12,20). His coming is imminent. He is about to come. He will come any moment from now. He is coming for those who are Holy, Spotless, Blameless or without Wrinkle (Ephesians 5:27). He is coming right away. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus (Revelation 22:20).
May God Almighty richly bless you as you obey His Word, live a Blameless or Holy life and prepare for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
”He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus” (Revelation 22:20).
